Anti Social Bench - The Sqoosh

Book In A Chair By Sang-Hoon Lee

There’s this preconceived notion that books have to be displayed on shelves or book rack, just to create a library style, but our modern lives don’t exactly allow for large shelving units and so we find other creative solutions such as smaller floating shelves - actually the home space more important in determine our home furniture. Book in a Chair by Sang-Hoon Lee takes a similar approach by integrating slats in between seat cushions along a bench. That way, a good book or magazine is always within arm’s reach.
You don’t have to place your favorite book on shelves, what you need to do just keep it within your reach, that is besides you. Smart idea indeed with this design you can save some space and same time had a duo functional design.
Vaka Light By Ian Bach

Nice to see a design that stand rest from other, weird and also unusual. Vaka light by Ian Bach just another cool design that get my attention. The lamp in a form of a tree with light bulbs, the bulbs can be picked off the tree. Then you can place the light wherever you feel is too dark and it will keep on going. Then just place the bulb back on the tree to charge it up again.

Spark Lamp By Beverly Ng - Increase Domestic Energy Awareness

Spark Lamp by Beverly Ng is a modern lighting products that helps and educate home owner in energy conservation. The main idea is to educate home users towards a sustainable lifestyle, if you understanding domestic energy consumption, for sure you can play your role and help reduce the energy crisis. That’s the concept behind Beverly Ng elegent Spark Lamp, a solar-powered lamp that educate home users reduce and minimize the energy consumption.
Spark Lamp is modern lighting that fully optimized the use of solar power to operated. The lamp collects solar energy during the day and emit light during the night, what you need to do is placed it up-side down on a windowsill to collect the sun’s rays during the day, which are then converted into energy to light up your room at night. This lamp functioned and fully equipped with 1 RGB LED, Wi-Fi module, tilt switch with biopolymers casing to protect the lamp.
This project was created in reaction to the Swedish’s government response to the energy crisis. In Sweden, future homes will be installed with smart meters that will provide real-time feedback to homeowners on the internet. Interactive Institute felt that providing the data on a website was not engaging enough; therefore, the Spark lamp was developed to enhance the experience by extending the feedback beyond the computer screen and into everyday objects in the home. Users enter a monthly energy consumption goal on the site according to their motivation (money, carbon footprints, discounts, etc). Every time the user turns on the lamp, it activates the tilt switch and turns on the wi-fi module where it reads the home’s energy data. Spark would pulse (3 sec) the appropriate color of their energy consumption (red-below target, yellow- on target, green - above target) and notifies the users of their consumption so far that month. After the 3 sec pulse, the light then turns to a regular white light lamp. This daily usage will help create a habit and help home owners understand their energy consumption pattern. On the website users will find tips and resources on energy conservation. Once the user has developed a more sustainable consumption, Spark can still be used as a lamp.
Looking back at the “plant” shaped of the Spark light, Beverly get the inspiration to create such design because she noticed that most Swedish homes placed a lamp on their windowsill and this gave the idea to integrate a lamp and plant. In addition, since the product champions energy conservation, the lamp don’t consume more energy than it needed. Therefore, Beverly used the plant as metaphor. Through photosynthesis plants get their energy for free from the sun. We should take advantage of mother nature’s gift as well. The spark lamp applies renewable energy in a fresh and poetic way.
This concept designs maybe can be a solution to energy crisis in certain countries - most of us hope so. Through various colored lights, users receive immediate and simple feedback on their energy consumption. By receiving frequent and tailored information regarding their energy usage, homeowners will be more aware, and more connected to their consumption, helping them attain a more sustainable lifestyle.

In every pyramid, there is a VRayLight (Sphere type), which are the only light sources in the scene.
The setup of the VRay2SidedMtl includes a VRayMtl in the Front Material slot, and Check-Box Off.
That means V-Ray will use the same material for the Back one as well.
The VRayMtl (Front material) has a diffese Bitmap, and for the opacity - a procedural Output map.
Invisible Streetlight By Jongoh Lee

Innovative and eco friendly street light by Jongoh Lee called Invisible Streetlight (IDSA 08). This light function just like other street light - give what we need most at night. More than that the light emits light by saving energy from the sunlight during the day. The most innovative element of Invisible Streetlight is that it does not require a support because the flexible body in the shape of tree branch is directly installed to the trees lining a street. This features make the installation so simple in parks and outskirts of urban centers. Also, Invisible Streetlight does not spoil scenic beauty of the surrounding areas.
Again concept designs are just the designer idea and unusual but the creative thinking of the designer can’t be put away - they find a way to create a better life. Jongoh Lee Invisible Streetlight being a concept design of course it don’t have any price information, time of production and most important this design will go back to designer desk for more “make over”.

First impressions upon seeing the “UFO Lamp” design by Nuno Teixeira, is that the secret society of UFO alien spieces already being discovered by human. Actually the UFO lamp design is one of the cool design that I found so far. With an oval suspension/floor lamp made of high-density expanded polyurethane with car paint finish. This design had a strong visual impact through high-gloss colors and sculptural body.
With great idea of a suspended lamp that look like UFO spaceship make the design frozen in spaces - more over in your living room. A Colorful design, make the lamp more attractive.
